What To Look For in a Website

Clearly Outlined
-
Who’s getting married!
-
The wedding date and time
-
The wedding venue
-
The RSVP date
These things may seam like a no brainer but that is why it is sometimes overlooked. This information should be easy for your guests to find so that there is no chance that anything is missed. Basic information should be easily available for quick easy reference.

Ease of Navigation
-
When a guest goes to your site, it should be clear WHERE they should go on it. You can create pages for your Hotels, Ceremony and Reception, Our Love Story (aka the story of how you two met), Registry, and RSVP. This will help guests get the information they need for your wedding and all the events surrounding it. Also, whenever possible pick a website address (url) that will be easy to remember and not too long .
Online RSVP
-
Tracking your guest numbers can be a time-consuming process. While you’ve no doubt spent at least an hour putting stamps on those tiny RSVP reply cards, having an online option means guests can choose which method they prefer. Alternatively you could opt for online-only RSVP, and just send reply cards to your older relatives who might not be as computer-savvy as others. Your RSVP section is where you can also ask questions regarding plus ones or dietary requirements. You can save yourself a whole lot of hassle later on by asking for these details upfront!
Guest List Manager
-
Part of the Online RSVP should deliver guest information automatically in a spreadsheet. This will save you valuable time when preparing for your event.
Computer / Mobile Device Compatibility
-
Often times websites work on a computer but do not convert well to mobile devices. This requires separate editing to be sure that things will function across different types of devices. Guests may access your site from a desktop computer one time and on a mobile device like a phone another time. Therefore, it is important to test on a variety of different types of devices to ensure smooth usage for all.
